7-11 May 2020 – ‘…something orange…’
Following the postponement of Spike Island Open Studios 2020 in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, we asked some of our favourite artists to respond to the title …something orange… to make an online lockdown show.
The art works were presented daily via Instagram @testspacespike between 7 to 11 May 2020.
We were extremely grateful to the twenty three invited artists that took part. In true Test Space interactive and inclusivity style, others were invited to join in as the show progressed and we did our best to track down hashtags and add their work on an equal basis.
In total there were nearly two hundred posts across Instagram, facebook and twitter, picturing around sixty individual artworks. These included physical works such as paintings, drawings and sculpture, as well as digital images, short films and virtual works. Many hundreds of people saw these and gave us over two thousand likes.
We were so pleased to fill feeds with something orange in these strange days.
