23rd-29th June 2014

Charlie Cousins’ installation, partly inspired by the work of W. G. Sebald and consisted of projection, sculpture and manipulated found imagery, formed an investigation into the narrative possibilities stemming from the re-appropriation of old photographs.

By using a range of different strategies such as layering images, hiding and mirroring them the work explored the elusive, fragmentary and sometimes fictional nature of memory.
